Five Things to Consider for a Happy Life

Five Things to Consider for a Happy Life

“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching; Love like you’ll never be hurt; Sing like there’s nobody listening; And live like it is heaven on earth.” —William W. Purkey

Life is unpredictable; it happens even when you stay still and many things are out of your control. However, being as prepared as you can be, gives you better chances to come out victorious from almost any situation. Here are five things to consider to live a happy life:

Your relationships need maintenance.

In any relationship of any kind, there is the need of, at least two parties to be involved. Plus, a partnership that is left to care for itself, sooner or later, dies.

Take good care of your relationships. Keep them alive and happy, stay connected, share pleasant moments and offer your help. In return, expect to be treated with the same level of love and care.

Take advantage of your opportunities and chances even when you think you’re not ready.

Most times people don’t feel ready for success. They wait and wait for everything to be perfect before making a little step towards what they want.

If that is happening to you, know that waiting is a waste of resources and opportunities. You can have everything you need, but if you don’t use what you’ve got is like having nothing. It is like hoarding never used kitchen appliances in the pantry to collect dust on them.

Resources, knowledge, and information are no different. Therefore, when you see an opportunity, take it! Take advantage of it and be assured that whatever else you might need along the way, you will be able to provide.

It is okay to make mistakes.

Only those who don’t try anything, don’t make mistakes; but those who don’t make mistakes are not building a happy life. Are they?

Celebrate your journeys through life; each experience is teaching you something, and each experience makes you wiser.

Did you know that most people are afraid of making mistakes, not for the consequences regarding their goals, but what others might think and say about it?

Listen, you are entitled to make mistakes. You are allowed not to care about how people see you because, ultimately, those who love and appreciate you, see your mistakes as opportunities to be useful to you and not ways to make you feel bad about yourself.

If you don’t make mistakes, how do you learn? How do you improve? How do you know when it is the right time for a change?

Make a priority keeping your brain young.

Could you have any use of getting beautiful (good looking) to old age if your brain doesn’t work properly? Plus, have you ever seen ugly old folks? I haven’t. Keep your brain young. Build a happy life for the present and the future.

A few tricks you can use to keep your brain young:

Learn new things
Be curious
Stay connected to people
Have dreams and aspirations
Keep on dancing – stay active
Build memories
Allow yourself to feel hungry three times a day (literally)

Fun is as important as work

The things we came to regret in life are things we haven’t done. Enjoy life, get together with your loved one with every opportunity and have some fun.
